A study of over 6,500 craft beer drinkers has uncovered Australia’s favourite craft brewers, with Feral Brewing taking out the top spot.

Created by craft beer retailer Beer Cartel, the 2016 Australian Craft Beer Survey claims to be the most comprehensive, publicly available research ever undertaken with Australian craft beer drinkers.

Feral Brewing was named Australia’s Best Craft Brewery, with Pirate Life claiming second spot; Stone & Wood in third; Bridge Road Brewers in fourth; and 4 Pines in fifth position.

“Feral Brewing has been producing exceptional craft beer over the last 10 years, regularly picking up awards by the Australian beer judging community. This latest accolade builds upon these numerous awards, showing Feral is considered by the craft drinking public in the same light as these judges,” said Richard Kelsey, director of Beer Cartel.

  • Victoria is the best state for enjoying craft beer
  • 81 percent believe the government should do more to support Australian craft breweries
  • 82 percent of consumers say beer tastes better when served in a glass
  • 78 percent say they’re drinking less, but better quality
