Food delivery company, Deliveroo, has launched in Adelaide and Canberra.

The latest expansion means Deliveroo now has a presence in seven Australian cities: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra.

Levi Aron, Australia country manager at Deliveroo said “Deliveroo is on a mission to create the best food delivery experience in the world. We are excited about how this expansion will connect even more Australians – including our leading politicians – to great food from their very best local chefs and restaurants. More than 2,000 of Australia’s best restaurants are already making the most of the opportunities Deliveroo offers and we want to connect even more restaurants with new customers without them having to invest in their own delivery riders or new kitchens.”

The new delivery areas in Adelaide include the CBD, North Adelaide, Hyde Park, Unley, Bowden, Prospect and Hindmarsh. Deliveroo will be available in Canberra’s inner north and inner south suburbs, including around Parliament House.

After launching in Austraila in 2015, Deliveroo last year announced alcohol delivery was now part of its service in Melbourne.

“Our license allows us to deliver a bottle of wine or a six pack of beer or mixed spirit, but they’re the only things we can deliver. It’s not a service where you can go online and order four bottles of vodka. This is made specifically for people who want to order alcohol with food, to enhance the dining experience. This is something that we know consumers and definitely restaurants are very happy about,” Aron told Hospitality.
