Restaurant reservation site, Dimmi, has announced its partnership with Good Food, allowing consumers to make bookings from the new Good Food app.

Dimmi will facilitate the bookings made via the app from this month, and later on in the year, the partnership will extend to the Good Food online platform, allowing readers to check availability and make reservations at restaurants listed on the site.

Stevan Premutico, founder and CEO of Dimmi, said the partnership is a win for consumers and businesses alike.

“It’s great for food lovers, it’s great for restaurants and it’s a great step forward to move the restaurant industry into the digital era. We have created a truly seamless integration between restaurant discovery and restaurant bookings, in one place.

“It will not only help our restaurants generate more bookings and increase revenue, it also gives them greater exposure through the highly influential food audience at Good Food,” he said.

Just last month Dimmi released its annual Dining Index, which found that the industry has grown 4.4 percent since the same time last year.

Acquired by TripAdvisor in 2015, Dimmi also launched a yield management system, Dimmi Off Peak, in July as a means of attracting customers to restaurants during quieter times of the week or day.

“Today restaurants charge the same prices on a Tuesday as they do on Saturday, and the same prices for a meal at 5.30pm as they do at 7.30pm. So what we’ve set out to do is give restaurants the ability to do dynamic pricing, to charge different prices at different days or time according to demand,” said Premutico.

“A restaurant could offer a 20 percent discount for customers who dine on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, or they could apply a free glass of wine for customers who dine at 6pm and vacate the table by 7.30pm, for example.

“A restaurant that in the past might have done 100 covers on a Saturday is now able to fit in 120 by getting some diners in earlier,” he said.
