The team behind the Mad Mex Fresh Mexican Grill franchise has launched a casual bar and eatery, Cantina de Mad Mex.
Cantina is located at Westfield Kotara’s new rooftop dining precinct, with seating for 80 people and boasting wood walls, terrazzo floors and a beach shack theme with shades of sea foam blue.
“Cantina de Mad Mex is a game changer for the business, designed for the future to cater for the growing trend towards a quality, casual dining experience with all the edge and fun expected from Mad Mex,” said CEO, Clovis Young.
“By the end of 2016, Mad Mex plans to open 20 Cantina de Mad Mex in Australia and venture out into the international market including the Middle East and Asia.”
While Mad Mex outlets populate the fast casual food court scene, Cantina de Mad Mex has a larger footprint, a dedicated bar area and a more relaxed atmosphere. Cantina sites will always be located within existing or new dining precincts rather than food courts.
The recent launch of both Mad Mex Pacific Fair and Sydney Domestic Airport outlets plus the first Cantina de Mad Mex means there are currently 60 stores in Australia with an additional 15 set to open in 2016.
