The Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing (OLGR) will be holding a number of free events for the hospitality industry at various locations throughout NSW to address alcohol-related harm.

The half day events will provide an opportunity for industry and community representatives to meet with liquor regulators and discuss strategies for promoting the responsible and safe consumption of alcohol, while supporting the local hospitality industry.

OLGR representatives together with stakeholders such as licensees, liquor accord groups, local council representatives, police and health and community groups will be in attendance.

The first session of each event will include presentations by keynote speakers from OLGR, police and other government regulators on their roles. These presentations will focus on alcohol harm minimisation and what this means for licensed venues. These presentations will be followed by expert panel discussions including questions from participants.

The second session will involve workshops tailored for liquor accord executives and regulators and will focus on how to develop successful liquor accord groups. These sessions will cover membership strategies, local solutions for local problems and ways to work collaboratively with regulators.

The workshops for regulators will bring together OLGR, police and local government compliance officers to discuss local issues. They will focus on best practice solutions as well as ideas to support accord groups.
