On 25 February, the Pyrmont Growers Market will make its comeback at its original location in Pyrmont Bay Park.

After 18 years of operation, the markets called it a day in April last year, but have now been brought back to life by Pyrmont Ultimo Chamber of Commerce (PUCC) and The Star.

Erica Reynolds, co-president of PUCC said “The markets were always a popular attraction in the precinct and the positive feedback we’ve received about its return suggests it will be just as popular and successful as ever.”

The Pyrmont Growers market will run from 7:30am to 12:00pm and will be held on the fourth Saturday of each month throughout the year. Stalls will offer fresh produce, handmade chocolates, fermented foods, cured meats, fresh flowers, Australian olive oils, spices, preserves, fresh meat and baked goods.

Mick Roche, market manager, has been working closely with food consultant Tawnya Bahr to engage a range of quality producers for the monthly market.

“The stall holders are all very positive and feeling excited about the February launch of the Pyrmont Growers Market. So many people from the community have shown interest and we expect that there will be a good turnout. It is fantastic to bring back a local market which assists to stimulate social and economic growth for the Pyrmont area,” Roche said.
