The home of the famous Kevin Bacon, The Grounds of Alexandria is set to open a second location in Sydney’s CBD.
A more city-friendly version of the caf, come farm and all-round entertainment venue is tipped to take over the former Mecca Cosmetica site along with a neighbouring venue at The Galeries, Sydney.
While nothing has been set in stone just yet, co-director of The Grounds, Ramzey Choker says that he will be commissioning Acme & Co to design the new space, and hopes to be trading by late 2015 or early 2016.
Speaking with Good Food, Choker says that the CBD venue will take a different direction to the flagship inner west venue in terms of design.
“We want to create memorable experiences,” he says. “So it’s about how can we do that in a corporate city environment.”
In addition to the Sydney CBD, Good Food reports that openings in Melbourne and Los Angeles could be on the cards further down the track.
