The Meat & Wine Co opened a new restaurant in South Yarra’s Como Centre on 28 July. The restaurant is the fifth venue for the group.

The dining experience places emphasis on quality and storytelling, centring on the restaurant’s exclusive Monte Beef brand. The meat, sourced solely from premium breeders of primarily Angus cattle, is carefully monitored throughout every stage of its journey from paddock to plate to ensure produce of the high standard.

The menu includes several cuts of steak, as well as Portuguese prawns, with kaffir lime, lemongrass, pearl barley and red quinoa pilaf; chargrilled pork belly caramalised in palm sugar, chilli and lime; a hand-pressed beef burger; farmhouse lamb shanks slow-cooked with celery, onion, carrot and herbs, chickpea and tomato rag; famegrilled skewers; a variety of salads and a vegetarian plate.

Bradley Michael, CEO of Seagrass Boutique Hospitality Group said “Melbourne has a fine tradition of catering for sophisticated foodies, and we’re delighted to be adding to the culinary offering in South Yarra with our proud paddock to plate approach and commitment to the highest quality dining”.

The new venue joins existing restaurant in Darling Harbour, Sydney; Circular Quay, Sydney; Southbank, Melbourne; and Hawthorn East, Melbourne.  Another opening in Kingston Foreshore, ACT, is slated for later this year.
