UberEATS has launched in Sydney, with more than 100 of the city’s restaurants available through the standalone UberEATS app.

The list of participating venues includes hatted restaurants like Sak and Three Blue Ducks, family favourites such as Fratelli Fresh and Love Supreme, as well as Butter and Thievery.

“Partnering UberEATS enables Sak Restaurant & Bar in The Rocks and Double Bay and our expanding group of Fratelli Fresh restaurants to tap into a new, home-dining market and connect with a larger customer base,” said Thomas Pash, CEO of Urban Purveyor Group.

“We will also be catering to the demands of our loyal customers for more flexible dining options and as a result we expect the long-term business impact to be substantial.”

UPG’s culinary director, Martin Heierling added, “Our goal is to give more diners a taste of Sak and Fratelli Fresh. This is more than just a premium home delivery service, it’s a lifestyle. We’re bringing a true dining experience into the home,” said Martin Heierling, Urban Purveyor Group culinary director.

Operating from 11am to 10pm, seven days a week, Sydneysiders can download and open the UberEATS app – available on iOS and Android – to get food delivered quickly to their door anywhere in Sydney’s inner suburbs.

“Today we’re super excited to be bringing Sydneysiders their favourite restaurants directly to their door, with the launch of the UberEATS app in Sydney,” said David Rohrsheim, general manager of Uber Australian and New Zealand.

“UberEATS will help more people access the city’s great food from top restaurants in their suburb and beyond.”

The Sydney launch follows the introduction of UberEATS Melbourne in April. There has been a considerable rise in the number of delivery services over the past year, with UberEATS joining other businesses like Deliveroo and foodora.
