Sydney-based hospitality group, the Urban Purveyor Group is continuing to grow its portfolio with the introduction of pop-up kitchens.

The pop-up kitchens have been launched via the group’s events arm, Urban Events Venues & Catering and features two refurbished shipping containers that can be fully customised and themed. Each event will feature a tailored menu that draws on the signature flavours of the group’s portfolio of restaurants.

In addition to the pop-up kitchens, the group also recently announced that they will be opening two new concepts within Sydney’s Grosvenor Place: Stella Ristorante & Terrazzo and Sak Jr

Stella Ristorante & Terrazzo, a casual Italian restaurant and bar, will span over three levels, offering both indoor and outdoor seating with views of The Rocks and Circular Quay, while Sak Jr will be a younger, more dynamic version of its older sibling,  Sak Restaurant & Bar, catering to active, healthy lifestyles.

The Group’s expansion is also continuing in Melbourne with the opening of The Alfred, in June, which will take over the site previously occupied by the Van Haandel Group’s Stokehouse City.

The Alfred will span across two levels, and comprise a New York-style steakhouse named after UPG’s Sydney venue, The Cut, as well as a burger and BBQ-focused casual dining concept with both inside and alfresco dining options, a speakeasy-style bar, multiple private dining rooms and cellars and a gourmet butcher takeaway shop.

“The exponential growth of the business means we have much more to offer our clients: more restaurants, lounges, bars and venues to hire for exclusive dining experiences, more private dining rooms and large function spaces to cater to events of any size, more cuisines to inspire menus, and an augmented team of events and catering planners to take clients’ ideas from incubation to realisation,” said UPG’s group director of sales, Julie van der Weegen.

“Our mobile container catering further extends our reach. We can truly tailor events to meet clients’ needs by featuring a fully customisable pop-up kitchen that brings a unique touch and a little theatre to an occasion.”
