With just two weeks to go until the official announcement of The World’s World’s 50 Best Bars for 2024, the extended 51-100 list has been released.
It marks the eighth year since the introduction of the additional rankings, which sees venues celebrated on a global stage.
Two Australian bars have made the cut this year, with Sydney’s Cantina OK! placing at no.96 and Melbourne’s Above Board taking out the no.100 position.
The two bars took to Instagram to celebrate their wins, with each venue thanking their team and patrons.
The extended list features bars from a total of 35 cities, with 12 new entries debuting from cities including Singapore, Madrid, and Copenhagen.
The USA has a total of seven ranked bars from New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and San Francisco, while the UK is the highest-performing European country with four bars out of 18.
Meanwhile, Singapore was the top-ranking Asian city, taking out three of the 13 places.
New entry Cat Bite came in at no.56, Night Hawk at no.74, and Native at no.67, a jump of 16 places since last year.
Smoke & Bitters from Hiriketiya also made the list (no.86), which is the first time a bar from Sri Lanka has debuted.
“This extended ranking gives us another incredible opportunity to celebrate the relentless dedication and unparalleled hospitality of the world’s best bars on an even greater scale and to welcome bars from even more destinations to the ranking,” says Emma Sleight, head of content for The World’s 50 Best Bars.
The top 50 bars will be announced during a live ceremony held in Madrid on 22 October.
