Sydneysiders are gearing up to welcome new food and beverage destination Sydney Place come March 2023.
The Lendlease project will comprise Jacksons on George by Maurice Terzini and DTLE alongside a number of eat streets and laneways in Circular Quay.
The offering will span all-day dining on Crane Lane, takeaway-centric venues on Rugby Place and small concepts on hidden alleyway Underwood Street.
Federico Zanellato (Lumi, Restaurant Leo) will open a second Lode shop front on Rugby Place (connected directly to Pitt Street), joining Morgan McGlone’s Sunday diner, Malay Chinese Noodle Bar and Kosta’s Sandwiches, which is expanding from Rockdale.
Crane Lane will see a range of different venues open for breakfast, lunch and dinner including Toastiesmith, Open Sesame, Burger Point, Sushi Yuzen, C9 Gelato, Bobo Dumplings and Japanese milk bar Dopa.
Meanwhile, Underwood Street will see Besuto Chef Joel Best expand from Quay Quarters to the precinct with a Japanese-inspired whisky venue called Bar Besuto.
Kingswood Coffee and The Associate cafe will also be located in the alley.
The first venues are slated to open in March 2023, with concepts rolling out until the middle of the year.
“We … are thrilled to finally be able to share our exciting final mix of retailers that will no doubt bring new vigour to Sydney Place and Circular Quay,” says Marnie Devereux, head of retail development at Lendlease.
“Securing our retail line-up … brings us one step closer to seeing the Sydney Place precinct come to life, complemented by the revamped Jacksons on George and major public square on George Street.”
