Chinese-Macanese hotpot eatery Dolar Shop has opened its first Australian outpost at 1909 Dining Precinct in Sydney’s Market City.
The brand was founded in Shanghai, China, in 2004 and now has 53 restaurants across the globe.
“Market City’s strong heritage and status as one of Sydney’s most authentic and vibrant Asian food destinations makes it a natural fit for our local restaurant debut,” says Dolar Shop co-founder, Jerry Li.
Philip Wu has been revealed as the Sydney restaurant’s executive chef, and has put together a menu inspired by Macau’s culinary offering, which fuses together Portuguese and Cantonese flavours and cooking techniques.
The menu will evolve seasonally and has a seafood focus, with snow crab, Sydney rock oysters, Tasmanian red lobster and big eye ocean perch all appearing on the menu.
Wagyu beef with a M6+ to M9+ score will also be on offer alongside an array of vegetables and noodles to dip into their simmering broth.
Diners can choose from soup bases such as pork bone, spare rib, mushroom or tomato and oxtail.
Market City will welcome Chinese eatery Beijing Impression along with two additional restaurants in the coming months.
