Colin Fassnidge revealed plans to close or sell his Surry Hills restaurant 4Fourteen in June, with news breaking the venue will officially close on 25 August.
Chef Jessi Singh is set to take over the space with his new restaurant Don’t Tell Aunty, which is scheduled to open early October.
“It’s an honour to be following the 4Fourteen legacy” says Singh. “I’m really excited to be joining the dynamic and vibrant Sydney hospitality scene.”
The “unauthentic” Indian venue will be Singh’s first Sydney restaurant, with the chef recently returning to Melbourne after spending over three years in the US.
Singh and his business partner Jennifer Singh also operated Dhaba at the Mill and Horn Please in Melbourne and Babu Ji in New York along with wine bar Bibi Ji in California.
Rajat Parr will work on the wine list and design the cocktail menu, and marks the first time he will be working in Australia.
