Sydney’s lower north shore will be welcoming a new addition to its dining scene with the opening of Italian Street Kitchen.
The brainchild of the Seagrass Boutique Hospitality Group (SBHG), Italian Street Kitchen will offer an indoor street fair experience comprising interactive food stations and an atmosphere reminiscent of an Italian street fair.
The venue will be taking over the former home of Mauro Marcucci’s Enopizzeria which closed its doors in March this year. Marcucci has since joined Seagrass and has been a major driving force behind the Italian Street Kitchen concept.
"Together, with SBHG, I am thrilled to provide our local community with a casual boutique brand, offering traditional Italian food at street prices without compromising on high-quality produce, flavour and keeping it traditional to the Italian cuisine," says Marcucci.
The menu will comprise Antipasto (arancini, fried & baked cheese, salumi & formaggio and meatballs) along with wood fired oven pork roast, and lamb or chicken spit roast cooked on an open flame barbeque.
Traditional offerings such as freshly made pasta and wood fire pizza will be the key standouts of the menu together with oven-baked pastas, gnocchi, cannelloni and lasagnes.
Designed by Otto Design Interiors, the venue's interior has been inspired by the streets of Italy. The space will feature a simple neutral colour palette with natural timbers, polished concrete and plaster which contrasts with raw and refined black steel elements that define areas and highlight a theatrical ambiance throughout the space.
Fresh produce and meats will also be showcased throughout the open style kitchen further enhancing the interior of the venue.
"We roll out joint ventures with partners that are experts in their field,” says Bradley Michael, CEO of SBHG. “By collaborating with the iconic restaurateur Mauro Marcucci, we hope to create a buzz in the Sydney hospitality scene."
Italian Street Kitchen is located at 5/19-21 Grosvenor Street, Neutral Bay and is slated for a September opening.
