McLaren Vale will welcome a new restaurant, the d’Arenberg Cube, in late 2017.
Brendan Wessels has been named head chef, while his wife Lindsay Dürr will assist with research and development.
“The restaurant will serve exceptional dishes that engage the imagination of our guests, amusing and delighting them,” Wessels said. “It’s not just about the food, it’s about the individual experience for each customer.”
The man behind the d’Arenberg Cube is fourth generation family member and current chief winemaker, Chester Osborn.
“The restaurant is going to be very unique,” he said. “Every aspect has been carefully considered to create an environment that stimulates the senses, with a playful element. There are dining chairs that explode with colour, tables crafted from old oak barrels, and eclectic pieces of art I’ve collected over the years.”
The restaurant will offer seasonally changing degustation menus, with an extensive wine list featuring a selection of imported wines, and both current vintage and museum releases from d’Arenberg.
d’Arry’s Verandah Restaurant is also located on the d’Arenberg property, housed in a restored 19th century homestead. d’Arry’s will continue to serve lunch daily, offering both a la carte and degustation options.
