McDonald’s Australia has teamed up with UberEATS to launch a nationwide delivery service set to roll out by the end of the week.
McDelivery debuted in seven Melbourne locations earlier this month, and will quickly expand to 80 restaurants in the coming days.
“We are excited to bring Australians this new level of convenience through our partnership with UberEATS,” said Shaun Ruming, COO of McDonald’s Australia.
“Delivery is one of the top requests we receive in Australia, and with a growing number of people using UberEATS to get their favourite foods, they are the ideal partner for McDonald’s as we launch this service.”
McDonald’s restaurants will be listed on the UberEATS app alongside a dedicated McDelivery platform. The full menu will be on offer, and a $5 delivery fee will apply.
Following a boom in home delivery services, KFC Australia told The Sydney Morning Herald they will trial the service with Foodora at eight outlets in the next three weeks. Veteran Red Rooster has offered delivery for more than two years and now has its own online platform and drivers.
