Three chefs have been announced as finalists for the 2017 Best Ōra King Dish Australia.
Christopher Bonello from MPD Steak Kitchen, Victoria; Joshua Askew from Swissotel Sydney and Sean Collett from Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron will all progress to the final stage of the competition.
Chefs from around the world were invited to submit their best Ōra King dish with a Japanese influence to qualify for the competition.
The finalists will travel to Japan in October for the 2017 Ōra King Awards ceremony alongside Sydney chef Jason Roberts, who has been appointed the Australian ambassador for Ōra King.
Bonello, Askew, Collett and Roberts will join leading culinary professionals to embark on a unique gastronomic tour of Japan.
New to 2017, the prize of a chef’s tour to Japan was introduced to mark the fifth year of the Ōra King competition.
