Australian Mexican franchise Zambrero has launched into the US market, opening two stores in Warwick, Rhode Island and Cambridge, Massachusetts.
A 93sqm restaurant in Harvard Square, Cambridge and a 144sqm restaurant with drive-through in Warwick were strategically chosen to trial the offering among a large demographic of customers.
“As consumer affinity for healthy fast food continues to grow, we saw it as a decisive time to launch and offer a new take,” says Bianca Azzopardi, general manager for Zambrero.
“We have a strong product that delivers on healthy choices and quality ingredients such as black rice infused with spirulina and amaranth seeds. Our meats are slow-cooked for up to 18 hours using the sous-vide method.”
Zambrero’s Plate 4 Plate initiative will also be utilised in the US, with a meal dontated to someone in need every time a burrito or bowl is purchased.
