Tipico restaurant and bar is set to open in Windsor, Melbourne, in late May.
The venue is the first concept by Andrea da Como (DOC, The Lucas Group, McConnell Group) and Mark Scalisi (Ti Amo, Tokyo Tina, Swillhouse Group) who have teamed up to launch their own version of Little Italy in Windsor.
Tipico will offer guests classic Italian flavours using Australian ingredients with head chef Domenico De Marco combining his classic European training with his experience working as a chef in Australia.
Signature dishes include spaghetti chitarra with vongole, mussels and calamari; tigella with prosciutto and squacquerone cheese along with eight-hour pork belly with broccoli and chili.
The wine list will strictly feature Italian and Victorian varieties and the cocktail selection will showcase eight house specials along with Italian classics including Negroni and spritz.
The venue has been designed by Stephanie Korolija from Studio Ole, and features raw and refined materials which creates casual yet sophisticated space.
