Barossa Valley restaurant Appellation at The Louise has announced Daniel Murphy as its new executive chef.
Murphy is the third executive chef in the one-hatted restaurant’s 13-year history, and takes the reins from current executive chef Ryan Edwards.
Born and bred in the Barossa, Murphy was part of the opening team of St Hugo Restaurant with Mark McNamara, and prior to that held roles at Fino Seppeltsfield and Barossa restaurants Saltram and 1918.
“We are thrilled to welcome Daniel to the helm of Appellation,” says Jim Carreker, owner and managing director of The Louise.
“His Barossa heritage will shine through in a creative, new interpretation of local produce paired with fine Barossa wines.”
In his new role, Murphy aims to build on his close relationships with Barossa producers and providores and highlights their premium ingredients in seasonally inspired cooking.
He will start at Appellation in early August.
