Collingwood café CIBI will move into a bigger space on 31-39 Keele Street after outgrowing their original site.
Owned by Meg and Zenta Tanaka, the warehouse location will be divided into zones covering homewares and a café. The CIBI will also debut Japanese pantry staples including dairy products, locally made tofu, sauces, pickles and condiments.
The café will offer an extended menu which revolves around blending traditional Japanese ingredients and cooking methods with western flavours and local produce.
Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea will be offered, with menu items including a traditional Japanese breakfast of grilled salmon fillet, tamagoyaki omelette, seasonal greens and miso soup. Soba salad and chicken soboro are highlights of the lunch menu.
The original store will close on 30 September, with the new location set to launch early October.
