Deliveroo has launched a new dark kitchen in Collingwood, Melbourne, which has the capabilities to house 25 brands.
The delivery company, which refers to the kitchens as ‘Deliveroo Editions’, launched the first outlet in Windsor last year.
Kitchens are purpose-built for delivery, with existing and new brands using the service to tap into the booming market without having to source, or use, a restaurant kitchen.
The new site will be five times larger than the Windsor outlet and feature nine kitchens compared to the Windsor location, which only has two. Deliveroo estimates the two outlets will service up to 475,000 customers across Melbourne.
Customers will also be able to access Food Market, which allows consumers to purchase items from multiple brands operating at Editions.
“With Collingwood Editions, we are redefining the food landscape yet again, with a larger site to accommodate more restaurants and offering more customers an even greater range of cuisines to choose from,” says Levi Aron, Deliveroo Australia country manager.
Restaurants who will operate out of the Collingwood outlet include Fishbowl, Royal Stacks, Messina, Sauced, Los Hermanos Mexican Taqueria, Pat n Stick’s and The Moor’s Head.
