Andrew McConnell’s Supernormal Canteen is gearing up for the holiday season, announcing a restaurant takeover and two special food offerings.
Shik’s Peter Jo will run a K-Town special at the St Kilda Restaurant, joining head chef Tim Stapleforth to put on a $65 seven-course banquet menu showcasing Korean flavours.
Menu items include kimchi, hibachi-fired ssam and a range of dishes from the raw bar. Minimal-intervention and one-off wines will also be available.
Supernormal Canteen will launch Spritz & Schnitz Fridays, offering diners $12 Mecanese pork chop sandos teamed with $12 spritzes. Drink options include a mix of umeshu and Aperol along with watermelon, mint and vermouth.
On Sundays, the venue will now grill $5 skewers from 12pm every week. Proteins include marinated Fremantle octopus, Clarence River king prawns, organic chicken thigh with yuzu kosho and meatball yakitori. Cans of $8 beer will also be available, which the range set to change.
