Melbourne’s Bimbo will reopen its doors on 22 May after a fire ripped through the building last year.
Formerly known as Bimbo Deluxe, the Colonial Leisure Group venue has dropped the ‘Deluxe’ to coincide with a new chapter.
“Bimbo has always been very popular – we spent months responding to messages about the venue return, so we knew Bimbo 2.0 had to be big,” says Lawrence Dowd, managing director of Colonial Leisure Group. “While they were unfortunate circumstances we found ourselves in last year, it meant we had the unique opportunity to undertake a complete venue refresh.”
The space now features a mural from Melbourne artist Celeste Mountjoy and work from contemporary artist Elliot Routledge.
Bimbo is set to launch a new menu, but the venue will still offer their famous $4 pizzas.
