Streaming platform Netflix unveiled a host of new food programs at its FYSEE Food Day, which are set to debut in the coming months.
Emmy-nominated series Chef’s Table will return for volume 7 and volume 8 under creator David Gelb, with Supper Club and Boardwalk Pictures listed as the producers.
Phil Rosenthal will return for 10 new episodes of Somebody Feed Phil, which follows the James Beard Award winner on an eating tour of the world.
Actor and director Jon Favreau and chef Roy Choi are bringing their movie Chef to the small screen with The Chef Show. The pair will travel and cook across the US, with a collaboration with pitmaster Aaron Franklin in Texas on the cards and an episode honouring food critic Jonathan Gold in Los Angeles.
“I’ve always wanted a straight-up cooking show since I was a child,” said Choi. “There is something timeless and beautiful about cooking straight to camera. The only snafu was I’m not a natural born entertainer so doing it alone was always out of the question! But then I met Jon and we built such an amazing friendship over the movie, Chef.”
The Chef Show is set to launch globally on 7 June.
