Potts Point eatery ACME has confirmed it will close its doors in June after five years of bringing baloney sandwiches and pig’s head macaroni to Sydneysiders.
Owners Mitch Orr and Cam Fairbairn announced the news on Instagram.
“We’re closing ACME at the end of June to allow us to explore new opportunities outside of our loud, pasta/noodle restaurant. The last 5 years wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our industry friends, suppliers and customers but most of all our staff over the years. Thank you to everyone who shared our vision and played a part in our journey.”
Orr also addressed the closure on Instagram, and said it was simply time to move onto the next chapter. “Acme has been a lifelong ambition realised, providing me with some of the highest highs and lowest lows of my life. Over acme’s lifespan we have created over 450 dishes, never once repeating a dish. I’m incredibly proud of the culture we’ve fostered and the staff we’ve been lucky enough to work with over the years. Without them we wouldn’t have been able to achieve anything … I hope acme is remembered for its creativity, uniqueness, fun and for the influence it has had on Sydney dining.”
The restaurant will continue to trade as normal in the coming weeks and will run a special menu chock-full of iconic dishes until the final service.
Bookings are now open.
