The Paper Mill Food will open on the banks of the Georges River in Liverpool on Saturday 10 August. The new food precinct will house four restaurants under one roof.
The development by Coronation Property will reinvigorate a restored heritage building and will be the heart of a residential community.
Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee seven days a week, The Paper Mill Food includes a café/bakery/dessert bar, a pizzeria, charcoal chicken and burger outlet, and a refined but casual a la carte restaurant specialising in meat and seafood cooked over charcoal and in the wood-fired oven. An extensive takeaway and delivery menu is also on offer.
Coronation Property has worked with hospitality specialist John Sahyoun of Karima Group to bring The Paper Mill Food to life.
DS17’s Paul Papadopoulos has transformed the building, which was once Australia’s largest paper mill, dating back to 1868.
The industrial legacy has been honoured, with period features including original brickwork and distinctive saw-toothed roof are retained, alongside contemporary updates in steel, glass and stone. Features include bespoke timber joinery, Carrara marble and custom cast iron sculpture resembling 19th century ovens.
An expansive hand-made mosaic tile floor is a highlight of the light-filled interior.
Multiple private and semi-private spaces are available for events of 12 to 120 people.
“There is nothing in Western Sydney like The Paper Mill Food,” says general manager Jason Chow. “We spent considerable time researching what we were going to put into this space, as we wanted to make sure it was what the community of Liverpool and greater Western Sydney have been wanting and deserve. We’re excited to open with our take on Lebanese chicken, pizza, meats grilled over charcoal, and coffee and pastries.”
