Appetite for Excellence is back, with young chefs, waiters and restaurateurs invited to apply for the nationwide program.
Created by chef Luke Mangan and front of house gun Lucy Allon, the program allows young hospitality professionals to test their skills and experience a range of professional development opportunities, from masterclasses to one-on-one time with the industry’s best.
Divided into three categories — young chef, young waiter and young restaurateur — participants will be judged by leading professionals, with previous judges including Quay’s Peter Gilmore, Momofuku Seiobo’s Kylie Javier Ashton and Merivale’s Dan Hong.
To enter, chefs and waiters must be aged between 18-30 years old and restaurateurs need to be under 35 and have owned a licensed business for two years. Entries are open until Tuesday 4 2020.
2020 participants are in the running to win return overseas flights, a staging opportunity at a restaurant, $2500 spending money and an all-expenses-paid tour of an Australian food and beverage region.
