With the Australian Government banning dine-in trading in restaurants and cafes, among many other measures to fight the spread of coronavirus, many hospitality businesses have had to pivot their offering to takeaway, in the hope of survival.
Online booking and discovery platform, TheFork has launched a new search function on both TheFork mobile app and website which enables diners to easily identify restaurants that are now offering pick-up or delivery, and place their orders, by calling the restaurant directly off the listing.
TheFork has ceased taking restaurant reservations and has instead enabled participating restaurants to list their takeaway offerings for free.
The Fork is taking zero commission, ensuring that the focus remains on helping those businesses and individuals that have been affected greatly by the new restrictions.
Gary Burrows, TheFork Australia Country Manager says the company’s mission is to support the restaurant community. as it adapts to the changing climate.
“The goal is to help ensure business continuity for our restaurant partners, while also allowing our diners to continue supporting their local eateries. ”Our support is with the community of restaurants and cafes that make up a vital part of our Australian culture.”
“We will continue to address and respond to the changing restaurant climate in accordance with the Department of Health and Australian Government.”
TheFork Support Team is in full operation from home and continues to be available to restaurants and diners at all times.
If you’re interesting in listing your restaurant within the new search area, please contact TheFork between 8AM to 6PM from Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 10AM to 6PM on +61 1300 337 761 or via email at support@thefork.com.au.
