The launch of Hotel X in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley has brought a whole host of new hospitality options for the area.
The property was launched in conjunction with French restaurant Bisou Bisou, with its ‘stay dine and play’ precinct was finalised with the opening of Iris, a Mediterranean-inspired rooftop bar and restaurant.
Under Ghanem Group Executive Chef Jake Nicholson, the menu at Iris has been developed to reflect the spices and flavours found along the Mediterranean coast from Beirut to Barcelona, with a particular focus on the Greek Islands and Spain.
“In true Mediterranean style, our head chef Lloyd Evans and I crafted a menu that connects diners over delicious share-plates in a casual yet high-quality dining experience,” says Nicolson.
“Iris leans on quintessential flavours and spices, enticing guests with rich yet refreshing dishes that lend [themselves] to the warmer Queensland climate,” says Evans.
The design of the rooftop bar complements the menu and channels the romance of the Italian coast. Guests enter through an entrance of exposed stonework in to a poolside setting that features fairy lights, a grove of olive trees and a Spanish-inspired colour palette of plum, indigo, rose and gold.
Iris is now open every day from 11am until late, with the rooftop space transforming into a dancefloor after dark.
