Scott Pickett has opened a spin-off venue offering CBD-dwellers a new workday dining option.
Le Shoppe by Chancery Lane adjoins its namesake restaurant and features a menu designed by Rob Kabboord.
Pickett says Le Shoppe is reminiscent of experiences diners may have had in France or Italy, with the venue exuding a Euro local corner shop aesthetic.
“It is quality food and emotive too, an experience that sparks a memory…,” he says.
“We want people to eat really well during their workday, whether it’s a quick takeaway quiche; a sandwich selection for team meetings, or a charcuterie platter to take home after work.”
The menu will evolve according to seasonality, with dishes including crepes suzette, borrowdale pork belly, crackling, coleslaw and apple chutney sandwich, quiche lorraine and croque monsieur and madame.
There will also be daily soups in winter and rotating salads.
On the pastry front, the cabinets are chock-full of croissiantsm pain au chocolat and snails with coffee supplied by Merchant Coffee Roasters.
The venue also has a generous pantry offering with wine, spirits, soft drinks available plus canned fish, olives, cheese and charcuterie.
Le Shoppe is open for dine-in and takeaway Monday to Friday from 7am until 4pm.
