Proud to Be a Chef will run their culinary mentoring program in 2022.
32 apprentice chefs from across the country will be given the opportunity to be a part of the annual initiative.
Chef Mark Normoyle of Anchor Food Professionals will return as resident mentor.
“Proud to Be a Chef is … a must-do for apprentices who are ready to challenge themselves to take the next step on their culinary journey,” says Normoyle.
“We have had many outstanding finalists who have gone on to become culinary leaders and some of them have returned as mentors to share their experience and insights with the next generation of finalists.”
The theme is ‘retro-futurism’, with all executive chefs and business owners encouraged to support their apprentices in entering the competition.
Entrants must submit an original recipe using an Anchor Foods Professional product along with an explanation as to why they love food and cookery.
Finalists will experience all-expenses-paid from masterclasses to skills workshops and have the opportunity to connect with industry leaders and dine at prominent restaurants.
The grand prize for the program is a culinary scholarship, with additional awards given for best dishes and best social media over the course of the program.
Entries close Sunday 31 October 2021.
