Australia’s top 100 bartenders revealed

Diageo has announced the top 100 finalists for the upcoming World Class Competition in Sydney.

Bartenders from iconic venues including Maybe Sammy, Cantina OK!, Foxtrot Unicorn and Nomad have all made the cut and will participate in a challenge inspired by the concept of aperitivo hour.

The Singleton Deli Plus Two will see participants create a cocktail using the Scotch whisky and just two other ingredients, with five winners moving on to the next round.

“We’ve been blown away by the quality and skill of this year’s entrants to date,” says World Class Ambassador Krystal Hart.

“As we enter the competition’s second phase, we’re looking for the top five bartenders to stand out by demonstrating imaginative and show-stopping creations.”

The top five will compete in a final round in July which will determine the 2022 Diageo World Class Australian Bartender of the Year.
