Contemporary Japanese restaurant Toko has reopened its doors on George Street in Sydney’s CBD.
The restaurant has been a firm favourite for more than 15 years and aims to deliver a fresh dining experience with a revamped menu offering.
Owner Matt Yazbek has worked closely with Head Chef Sunil Shresthra to utilise seasonal produce and recreate the venue’s most-loved dishes.
“There’s been several iconic dishes Toko has been renowned for over the years that were rotated off the menu seasonally,” says Yazbek.
“We’re bringing them back, so the menu really is an anthology of our most loved dishes plus we get to introduce some new ones into the mix.”
The 100-seat restaurant is split up across a sushi bar, robata grill counter and a private dining room which seats 16 guests.
Mainstay items include nigiri, smoked miso king salmon, soft-shell crab, spicy tofu, BBQ pork ribs and yuzu meringue cheesecake.
New dishes include Murray cod, tempura zucchini flowers, tuna crispy rice and tartare and caviar along with a robata grill selection and omakase experience.
Toko is open until 2am, and is the latest Sydney venue to open for late-night dining.
The restaurant is open for dinner service from 5:30pm until late and will commence lunch from 18 October Wednesday to Friday.
