South Australian festival Tasting Australia is set to return next year from 28 April until 7 May with a new program.
There will be more than 150 events across all 12 regions, highlighting the best the state has to offer.
“Tasting Australia brings life to our city and regions, encouraging people to try something new and celebrate the world class food and beverage experiences on offer in our state,” says festival Co-Director Karena Armstrong.
“We are proud to highlight every region of South Australia with this program, offering lots of opportunity to explore regions as well as a range of exciting events to bring people into the CBD and surrounds.”
The program will see International chefs Heidi Bjerkan (Norway), James Lowe (UK) and Gill Meller (UK) collaborate with local talents such as Karen Martini, Paul Carmichael, Justin James and Jake Kellie.
The festival will kick off with an opening night wine party in the University of Adelaide Masterclass Pavilion in Town square with wine tastings created by the festival’s Drinks Curators Meira Harel and Banjo Harris Plane along with Pirate Life beers plus cocktails from Bar Liberty’s Nick Tesar.
Carmichael and James will join the likes of Chae Jung Eun and Simon Bryant (Festival Patron) in a new chef’s table experience at The Dining Room in Town Square.
Due to popular demand, Tasting Australia Airlines is making comeback to Flinders Ranges with an overnight stay that includes a dinner curated by Africola’s Duncan Welgemoed and Marque’s Mark Best.
In addition, festival-goers will be able to have a day on Kangaroo Island with Three Blue Duck’s Mark Labrooy, Young George Bar’s Melissa Palinkas, Lot 100’s Shannon Flemming, The Old Plate’s Dylan Pitallo and Millie Mae Pantry’s Jan Ordway.
Other highlights include Yalumba X Chin Chin, Peel Street X Miznon Melbourne and a long lunch at Maxwell wines as well as a five-day culinary journey through the state’s Epicurean Way.
