Located adjacent to the InterContinental Sydney, Bar Messenger is a 120-seater, art deco, wine bar.
Venue Manager Aaron Rothe is behind the venue’s wine list, which is a showcase of Australian producers.
Some of the brands on pour include Mulpha Hospitality Group wineries like Bimbadgen and Alter from the Hunter Valley, alongside others like S.C. Pannell and Henschke.
To pair with the wine, Bar Messenger offers a grazing menu of small share plates, toasties, cheese and charcuterie boards.
“The team is incredibly excited about this unique venture, as it allows us to provide an exceptional wine and food experience to our patrons,” says Mulpha Hospitality Group General Manager Belinda Stapleton.
“Our shared passion for quality wine and delectable cuisine is at the heart of what we offer … [we] invite them [guests] to indulge in the remarkable selection of wines and culinary delights we have curated.”
The art deco interior is the work of Brisbane-based architect Simone Barr of DAARC who took inspiration from the building’s heritage.
The Bar Messenger logo also pays homage to the sculpture of messenger of the Roman Gods Mercury by Australian artist Raynor Hoff.
Bar Messenger is open Wednesday to Sunday and is located at 10 Phillip Street, Sydney.
