Late-night 80s-inspired margarita bar and Mexican diner Cancun Boat Club opens today in Sydney as part of the Quay Quarter Lanes precinct in Circular Quay.
It’s the first venue from the team-up of hospitality groups Milpa Collective (Bar Lucia, Santa Catarina, Calita, Carbon, Taqiza) and The WXT Group (Wings and Tins, La Farmacia, Mrs Palmer Sandwich).
Cancun Boat Club will serve a Mexican-American food offering for lunch service each day alongside a snack menu that is available until 2am from Thursday to Saturday.
Highlights set to include birria pizza; sizzling fajita plates; Flaming Hot Cheetos grilled corn; Mexican hot dogs and tacos; 500g Angus rib-eye nachos; and the venue’s signature DoriLocos which teams Doritos, hot sauce, and a selection of toppings.
“The food is inspired by the legendary lively, and super fun all-day-party Mexican Diners that populated the Mex-Caribbean areas in the 80s. Cancun Boat Club brings back Mexican comfort food at it best,” says Milpa Collective Co-Founder Pablo Galindo.
Drinks-wise, guests can expect Mexican lagers, cocktails, wine, agave, and a list of margaritas including the group-sized Captains Margarita served in a treasure chest with a captain’s hat.
The venue also aims to be a new late-night hotspot for Sydneysiders with DJs from Thursday through to Saturday until 2am.
Cancun Boat Club is now open Tuesday through to Saturday at 8 Loftus Street, Sydney, New South Wales.
