August is the month of openings, with Neil and Sam Perry preparing to debut a new restaurant and a bar in Sydney’s Double Bay.
Song Bird and Bobbie’s are located inside the heritage-listed Gaden House which neighbours Margaret and Baker Bleu, Neil’s debut launches after exiting Rockpool Dining Group.
Bobbie’s will open on 21 August beneath Song Bird and is a collaborative effort between the Perry’s and Linden and Nathalie Pride from New York’s Dante.
The cocktail bar is a tribute to Australian disc jockey Bob Rogers and has been fitted out accordingly – think lush interiors and a classic cocktail list.
“Bobbie’s will be all about mid-century furnishings, plush velvet, live music, finger food, and cocktails made by world-class connoisseurs whilst surrounded by the casual sophistication of a Neil Perry institution,” says Linden.
Song Bird will welcome guests from Friday 30 August and span three levels.
The upscale culinary experience will revolve around a Cantonese-inspired menu, with Perry teasing some launch dishes via Instagram including pork wontons in fragrant soup, kung pao chicken, red braised pork, and prawn and pork wontons.
Reservations are now open for both venues.
