Brisbane’s Felons Brewing is making its first interstate move to another iconic waterfront location.
Artemus Group purchased Manly Wharf and Wharf Bar in April in Sydney for a reported $110 million earlier this year, with the group making the decision to replicate the ultra-successful Felons Brewing Co on the Northern Beaches.
The brewery forms a key part of the group’s refresh of the wharf precinct, which will see Wharf Bar close its doors to make way for Felons.
“We’re excited to unveil Felons’ new home at Manly Wharf,” said Adam Flaskas, co-founder and director of Artemus Group.
“Our vision for Manly Wharf has always been to create a dynamic, community-focused destination, that fuses dining, and entertainment and raises the bar on hospitality.”
The Felons experience will naturally focus on beers, with the brand’s award-winning portfolio of lagers, pale ales, and limited-edition brews poured alongside cocktails, wines, and zero-alc options.
Former Rockpool talent Corey Costelloe has been recruited to design the launch menu, with the chef focusing on seafood as well as beef from CopperTree Farms.
Future guests can expect a 45-day, dry-aged 600g ribeye; Clarence River baby octopus with lemon, chilli, and oregano; and whole whiting.
As per the Howard Smith Wharves iteration of Felons, live music will also be a focus at the Manly location, with artists and DJs set to appear on most nights.
“Manly couldn’t be a better fit for Felons,” says Dean Romeo, brand director of Felons.
“The lifestyle enjoyed in the Northern Beaches is up there with the best in the world and we’re excited to share that.
“Locals and visitors alike can expect an inclusive space where people from all walks of life can come together, and relax in good company, all while celebrating the magic of beer.”
Felons will welcome the public from 18 October.
