After launching in Shanghai, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia, Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart is preparing to open a number of sites in Australia.
Owned by the ST Group, which also operates PappaRich, Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart will soon launch four sites in Melbourne and one in Sydney, followed by further expansion in the first quarter of 2017.
The tarts are inspired by island of Hokkaido in Japan, which produces 50 percent of the country’s milk and 90 percent of its cheese.
The original Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart stores launched in Malaysia earlier this year and according to a statement released by the ST Group, the stores are now selling up to 20,000 cheese tarts per day.
Priced at $3.90 each for a 4-inch tart, Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart’s namesake is known for its richness and creaminess. The tarts have a crunchy, shortcrust base and fluffy filling and can be eaten at room temperature, chilled or hot from the oven.
Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart will be opening at Melbourne Central on 10 December, QV Square on 17 December, Box Hill Central and World Square, Sydney, before the end of 2016 (exact date to be confirmed) and also in Chadstone (date to be confirmed).
