Australian Pork is hosting its inaugural Casual Dining Symposium in Sydney on 22 November.
Marketing manager Mitch Edwards said the event is an opportunity for those involved in the casual dining sector to network, learn what their peers are doing and share ideas on the latest industry trends.
“Casual dining is an exciting foodservice market which is growing at an extraordinary pace,” he said.
“This symposium will have some leading industry names share their thoughts and experiences to open discussion on some of the big issues, including the current skills shortages and supporting the next generation.”
The day will comprise a number of panel discussions, with topics including Social Media, The Skills Shortage and How to Fix It; Growing Your Business Model; and All Things Pork.
Speakers include Colin Fassnidge, co-owner of Sydney’s 4Fourteen; Nick Whitehouse, executive chef at Rawsons at The Epping Club; Alex Herbert, consultant and founder of Bird Cow Fish; Restaurant Pendolino’s Nino Zoccali and Katey Shaw from Campbelltown Catholic Club and Gault&Millau 2016’s Potentialist of the Year.
“There will be speakers familiar to most, as well as others who are experts in their field. We think this balance will allow people to get the most out of the day,” Edwards said.
The Casual Dining Symposium will be held at the Northern Sydney Institute, Ryde TAFE from 9.30am until 5.30pm. RSVPs are essential for the event, with the $25 ticket price being donated to beyondblue. To RSVP, please email Venessa.barnes@australianpork.com.au
