Located on the Darling Harbour foreshore, Oscars Hotels is preparing to welcome The Port on 30 September, with the official launch taking place on 13 October.
Located at the former Margaritaville site on the Harbourside Shopping Centre foreshore, the 1,050 capacity venue has undergone a complete overhaul, with the new design driven by architect, Lainey Richardson whose previous work includes Wollongong’s Pepe’s On The Beach, The Annandale Hotel and The Henson in Marrickville.
The site boasts a French coastal vibe and an open aesthetic.
From 10am each day, passers-by can purchase Will & Co coffee and a pastry or dine in for lunch by the water.
The Port’s menu offers a selection of shared-style food items and includes sourdough flat breads with various toppings; raw and cured items including Hiramasa kingfish sashimi with pickled ginger, soy and wasabi; and the charcuterie and seafood sampling boards. More substantial items include the pork short ribs with smoked barbecue sauce; and a double royale burger with cheddar, double beef and house pickle. Sides such as duck fat kipfler potatoes with black garlic mayo; and charred corn with smoked paprika butter are also on offer.
A number of signature and classic cocktails are on the beverage list, including the St Barts Sour with Disaronno, Makers Mark Whiskey, egg white, lemon Juice and black pepper; and the Smoked Sea Salt Margarita with Patron Silver lime juice, pineapple, agave nectar, smoked sea salt and a pinch of paprika. There are also jugs to share, wines by the bottle and glass and a range of craft beers both bottled and on tap including Young Henry’s and Stone & Wood Brewing Co.
Available for events, The Port is open seven days, with the kitchen operating from 11:30am until 10pm.
