Brunswick bar Albert Street Food & Wine has been revamped and renamed Albert & Sydney.
Albert & Sydney venue manager, Janee De Silva said the revamp came about after noticing a demographic shift in the area towards young professionals looking for a smart yet relaxed bar to have as their local.
“We’ve had a bit of fun with it and created a juxtaposition with Albert & Sydney – curated cool on the Albert side meets classy contemporary on Sydney’s half – represented in both the bar’s dcor and our menu,” said De Silva.
The Albert side of the venue offers an industrial and edgy feel with bar seating, while Sydney showcases the contemporary and minimalist design with booths for intimate groups.
“The best thing about the revamp is that now it extends itself as a private function venue from milestone celebrations to corporate cocktail parties for intimate and large groups up to 140 people,” said De Silva.
The food offering remains unchanged, apart from moving toward a sharing menu with matched wines and cocktails.
“There’s something for everyone’s taste, from smaller plates, burgers and sliders, to charcuterie and cheese boards,” said De Silva.
Albert & Sydney is now open on the corner of Albert Street and Sydney Road, from 4pm–11pm Wednesdays and Thursdays, 12pm–1am on Fridays and Saturdays, and 12pm–11pm on Sundays.
