The Albion in South Melbourne is set to open Saturday 10 February after a fire destroyed the venue in 2015, just 10 days before it was scheduled to launch.
“It was gut-wrenching to see all our hard work disappear so close to completion, but we got to work fast and with the help of our incredible team, we’re proud to say The Albion is back,” says co-owner Dane Swan.
Covering three floors, the venue’s highlight is a rooftop bar with views of the Melbourne city complemented by lush greenery and timber finishes.
Food options include lotus root chips with Kewpie mayo; soft shell crab bao and miso-glazed tofu. Signature dishes include seared nori tuna and cider-braised pork belly.
Cocktails will include the Givender, a G&T made with lavender, St Germain Elderflower, Bombay Sapphire and Capi Tonic. An array of sparkling, red and white wines will be available along with a selection of eight beers on tap.
