Melbourne’s Flinders House is set to welcome a new culinary addition with the announcement of all-day European-inspired bistro Elio’s Place.
Slated to open in July, Elio’s Place is the project of sibling-duo Adam and Elisa Mariani who are the forces behind other CBD favourites Greta and Maverick.
The 90-seat venue will be located in the 1860s-built Flinders House on Flinders Lane in the CBD and will host front and kitchen bar spaces plus a 24-seat private dining room.
Elio’s Place will be open early to serve coffee and breakfast, before transitioning into lunch for both dine-in or takeaway.
There will also be a daily aperitivo session from 3-5pm before the kitchen opens for a dinner service.
Group Executive Chef Gareth Flood (Greta, Maverick, Mayday) is spearheading the culinary offering that is set to star bistro classics from Italy, Spain, France, and the UK but with Australian influences.
The venue’s name is a nod to Adam and Elisa’s late father Elio, who “cherished good meals and engaging conversations.”
Studio Co & Co are working with Adam and Elisa for the fit-out which is expected to pay homage to the surrounding Flinders House theme but with a modern interpretation of old-world European venues.
Elio’s Place is slated to open this July at Flinders House, 238 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, Victoria.
