Supernormal is set to open its first interstate location in the coming months – but it won’t be the only venue Trader House is opening on Queen Street.
Bar Miette will launch a street level above Supernormal’s riverside location and is set to champion a European way of dining from breakfast until dinner.
“The spaces are coming together beautifully, and we cannot wait to share these equally extraordinary, yet very different, offerings,” says Andrew McConnell.
“Bar Miette is classically European and a fitting juxtaposition to Supernormal.”
The indoor-outdoor venue has views of the Brisbane River and will operate seven days a week from 7am on weekdays and 8am on weekends.
The culinary leader of both venues has also been confirmed, with Jason Barratt stepping into the executive chef position after time as Paper Daisy’s head chef.
“Seeing what has been happening in the restaurant scene in Brisbane over the past few years has been great to watch, and now being a part of the city’s culinary growth at Supernormal and Bar Miette is really exciting – actually it’s safe to say that excitement is an understatement,” he says.
Barratt is joined in the leadership team by Venue Manager Alex Tuckett, who has moved across from Frida’s Field at Nashua.
“Bringing a restaurant to life takes many people to realise,” says McConnell.
“Design, location and vision are important, but at the heart of any hospitality operation is its people and we are thrilled to be working with seasoned professionals to lead the team such at Jason and Alex.”
Supernormal and Bar Miette are yet to confirm official opening dates, but both venues are slated to launch in the middle of this year.
