Archie Rose Distilling Co. has appointed 10 new team members to support its continued growth in Sydney.
The announcement follows news that the company will open a second distillery and bond store in Botany in mid-2019.
New hires include acclaimed bartender Philip Gandevia as Queensland ambassador; Victoria Tulloch (pictured) as head of marketing; Amanda Jennings in marketing; Martyn Shoppee as production manager; two new distillers, Allan Luks and Crystelle Evangelista; Niki Tagliapietra in administration/accounts and Maria Santiago, Keevon Williams and Michael Perelini in the Archie Rose Bar.
The Archie Rose team now includes over 25 full and part time staff, spanning five divisions: production, operations, hospitality, sales and marketing.
Archie Rose founder Will Edwards says the company is incredibly fortunate to be able to build on the existing team and to welcome a marketing department for the first time.
“The level of talent, ability and creativity within our business is amazing, but it’s still trumped by the intense passion everyone who works here has for what they do, Archie Rose and the industry more broadly,” he says.
“On top of that, we are particularly proud that in what is often considered a male dominated industry, 40 per cent of our distillers and 50 per cent of our leadership team are women.”
Phil Gandevia begins with Archie Rose this week having worked in many of Australia’s leading bars including Bentley Restaurant & Bar, Eau De Vie and The Roosevelt, gaining international recognition for his cocktail lists as well as managing staff and conducting masterclasses and training.
His appointment demonstrates Archie Rose’s commitment to broadening its reach and personalising its service through state specific ambassadors.
After working externally for the brand since its launch, Victoria Tulloch has joined Archie Rose more formally as head of marketing. Tulloch’s new role also sees the inception of an events and partnerships capability, led by Helen Maidens, and will see the expansion of Archie Rose’s popular spirits experiences and cultural partnerships around the country.
