Australian Cocktail Month is set to make a comeback throughout May this year.
Founded by Penny Sippe, the event aims to showcase cocktails, spirits, bartenders and venues across the country.
Tickets ($20 + booking fee) allow guests to sample cocktails from special menus exclusively for the month.
145 selected partner venues in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Geelong, Gold Coast, Hobart, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth, Sydney and Wollongong will participate.
Some of the venues include Sydney’s Jangling Jacks, Hickson House, Apollonia, Sammy Jnr and Jolene’s along with Melbourne’s Black Pearl, Lover, Caretakers Cottage, Nick and Nora’s and the Everleigh.
Meanwhile, Adelaide bars such as Maybe Mae, Hains & Co, Alfred’s Bar, Bar Torino and Hennessy Rooftop Bar will also open their doors.
The Gresham, Savile Row, Death and Taxes, Blackbird and Frog’s Hollow Saloon will be among the line up of Brisbane establishments.
Local spirit brands such as Archie Rose, Brix, Farmer’s Wife, Feels Botanicals, Four Pillars, Great Ocean Road, Hickson Road, Idle Hour, Karu, Milton Rum, Morris Whisky, Mr Black, Needle & Pin, Poor Tom’s, Saint Felix and many more will make an appearance.
International bottles are also in the mix with the options like Bombay Sapphire, Citadelle, Fords, Hendrick’s, Malfy Limone, Peddlers and Warner’s Rhubarb, Patrón, Sesión, Buffalo Trace Glenfiddich, Shanky’s Whip and Sheep Dog.
Grey Goose and Titos will allow bartenders to make drinks such as Bacardi, Diplomatico, Plantation and Rumbullion.
Bartenders will also get to use Monin syrups and purees along with Fever Tree mixers.
