Baker Bleu has opened in Cremorne, the fourth location in its highly successful string of venues.
A stone’s through from Melbourne’s Richmond railway station, Baker Bleu Cremorne is the cult bakery’s largest yet, with seating for 20. Rather than only selling baked goods and pantry essentials like its counterparts, the Cremorne venue be Baker Bleu’s first dine-in cafe for breakfast, lunch, and coffee from Market Lane.
Mike and Mia Russell founded Baker Bleu in Melbourne in 2016. What started out as a small Eslternwick bakery with a cult following now has a string of four stores, with the Cremorne location – which was announced in early 2024 – joining Baker Bleu Caulfield North, Hawksburn, and Double Bay.
“We’re excited to bring Baker Bleu to a new market and look forward to becoming a part of the daily routine of Cremorne’s community,” says Baker Bleu Owner and baker Mike Russell.

Whether it’s a daily coffee or loaf of sourdough, Russell is adamant the store has something for everyone.
While the traditional sourdough and pastry offering remains, the menu will feature new additions including challah French toast with whipped ricotta and fresh fig; a ploughman’s plate with a soft boiled egg, fresh bread and CopperTree butter, pickles, ham, and gruyere; a variety of sandwiches; sourdough pizzas; and a green goddess chicken salad.
The shop will also sell the brand’s merchandise alongside artisanal products from local makers.
IF Architecture and Studio Round designed the fitout, harnessing the sleek properties of aluminium, stainless steel, and American oak.
The bakery-café is located at 65 Dover Street Cremorne. It is open Monday to Friday from 7am to 4:30pm, and weekends from 7am to 3pm.
